OFA's 2010 Strategy Session in Tampa!

Event Location: Children’s Board of Hillsborough Co - 1002 East Palm Ave Tampa, FL

Event Description:
2010 Strategy Session

March 1, 2010 -6:00 pm

at the
Children's Board of Hillsborough County
1002 East Palm Ave
Tampa, FL

Organizing for America‘s “2010 Strategy Sessions” are a chance for
staff and volunteer leaders to talk with volunteers and other
supporters across the Tampa Bay region about OFA's legislative and
electoral plan for 2010.
The goal is to clearly articulate our 2010
strategic framework in Florida and to begin working with volunteers on
developing local strategies to accomplish the state's goals; you
should leave the Strategy meeting with a common understanding on where
OFA is going in your state and with clear next steps of action

As an organization, OFA has come a long way in the past year. We have
lessons to learn from the budget pledge drive, the stimulus and
Sotomayor campaigns, health insurance reform and the MA Senate race.

These 2010 Strategy Sessions are a time to bring those
lessons together and look towards the future.
 At these sessions,
staff and volunteer leaders will talk through the national strategy
and framework for 2010, while simultaneously gathering feedback,
getting buy-in from supporters and breaking down the national
framework into a local strategic plan for 2010.

Please plan on joining us  at the Children's Board of Hillsborough County on March 1st at 6 pm.

http://www.amazon.com/Omnivores-Dilemma-Natural-History-Meals/dp/0143038583/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236860996&sr=1-1

If you're interested in other Progressive reading, check out the Progressive Reading Book Club at www.progressivebookclub.com. They've got some great reviews and deals on book purchases.

Also, David Sedaris is going to be at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center on April 18th. David is author of "When You Are Engulfed in Flames" and "Me Talk Pretty One Day." You will not want to miss this chance to be entertained by one of America's pre-eminent humor writers. With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, Sedaris slices through cultural euphemisms and political correctness. This master of satire is one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today.

You can help by collecting donations for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. We want the "pot of gold" filled to the brim for our furry friends. Funds raised provide shelter, food, spay/neuter services and medical care for the thousands of animals that are relinquished to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay each year.

Recruit your co-workers, friends, neighbors, or relatives to join our “Pack”. $50 in donations per “Pack” member to receive “Pack” benefits.

PLEASE let Jen Greenfield at veggiejen@me.com know if you will be joining our 'Progressive Paws' pack ASAP!

Here are a few of the reasons why I love to help out HSTB:

Pet Adoption Program - WE HAVE A 92% SAVE RATE! For nearly 100 years we have helped over a million animals who have passed through our doorway by providing shelter, food, spay/neuter services and medical care.
“Animeals” - Volunteers deliver dog and cat food each month to homebound, elderly and/or disabled recipients. Hurricane survival packs are delivered in June and Holiday gifts arrive in December.
Food Assistance Program - Provides free pet food for people in need during these hard economic times so they can keep their pets
Pet-A-Pet Program - Volunteers take their own pets to nursing homes and long-term care facilities to visit with the residents as pet therapy.

You can even start your own web-fundraising page like me! Make sure to join our 'Pack' PROGRESSIVE PAWS (in the upper right corner)
http://www.firstgiving.com/progressivepaws

Let's get going and help out the furry kids that need a forever home!!
Please share this page with all your friends!!

Thanks
